Inspired by the serene, earthy tones of the green tourmaline, this oil on canvas work by Amelia Axton explores the way light moves, reflects and shifts within a precious gemstone. Layers of soft green and muted neutral tones create a gentle sense of depth and movement, echoing the natural variations of colour revealed as light travels through the stone. Atmospheric and contemplative, the work captures the quiet beauty of the green tourmaline and the subtle luminosity found within its rich, layered colour.
